Go green with the Irish festival, get booked at the literature festival, and get set for dance, drama and shopping.

As always, York’s comprehensive guide to things do to in York is here.

York Literature Festival

York Lit Fest goes aristocratic for its first weekend. First up is Sir Simon Jenkins, talking about Britain’s best railway stations on Saturday. The following evening Baroness Sayeeda Warsi’s talk is The Enemy Within: A Tale of Muslim Britain. Fascinating stuff – and there’s a whole host of other wordy events too.
